Snow Black

As we shift gears & get ready for the coldest winter ever, we still have time to admire the unpredictable weather here in NYC. Do you remember that rule we grew up with " No white after Labor Day "? I don't know why I really thought it was a sin to wear white after Labor Day but thank God I grew out of that stupid mentality. There are no rules to fashion, just your wild imagination. Be daring, be bold and wear whatever you want.

Hair Goes Copper

Hey guys,

I know it's been such a long time since I've updated my blog but now I'm back stronger than ever. You ever wanted to try a new color desperately ? Are you the type of person that loves jet black hair and couldn't see yourself with another color ?

Well yes, that was my dilemma and this blog post is for you if you answered was yes to any of those questions. I attempted to do half blonde hair & half brown but that was an epic fail for me. It didn't blend well in my opinion. And then God created copper orange 😍😍😍😍😍

I ran to my local beauty supply store and picked up these colors below by Adore, 4 mixing bowls, and 4 brushes

The coloring process was the most tedious thing ever. I mixed the colors together until I got the desired shade I wanted. I knew I wanted a bright copper color so I added more sunrise orange & orange blaze into the bowl with a little bit of cinnamon. The reason why I used cinnamon to tone down the color is because I wanted it to match my complexion. If you want to go darker, add more cinnamon than the other colors. Sounds pretty simple right? Simple but very tedious. Each row of my copper is a different shade but when combed together it blended so well. For the back of my hair, I used cinnamon by Adore & Kiss rinse in ( Nutmeg )

With my first attempt, I went a bit darker so I can see how my complexion would look with copper hair. I used more Adore cinnamon & another Adore rinse called Cajun spice for the roots. I used sunrise orange for the tips only. This was the results

I liked it but didn't quite love it. I wanted to go brighter and this was the hair after I used cinnamon, sunrise orange, & orange blaze

I was so happy with this shade so I decided to style it next. I wanted big, messy & beautiful curls. I'm not a super big fan of flexi Rods. It wasn't going to give me what I wanted so I went with these to do the trick

Plastic rollers in every size. I mixed conditioner & water in a large spray bottle & got me some holding gel. I spray the hair, put some gel on the tips and roller set the hair using random sizes all over my head.  I kept it in overnight for more defined curls. Here's the finish product guys.

Leave comments below & if you have anymore questions, feel free to ask. To add volume to your curls, I suggest using a hair pick like the one below.

Thank you guys for tuning in. If you are interested in having me achieve this color for you, email: smfashionology@gmail.com for a quote.
